The Red Velvet Inn donates a portion of every room rental to the following dog rescue organizations:
Texas Husky Rescue (Dallas/Ft. Worth) – Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May of 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. relies solely on volunteer foster families to take Huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.
Long Way Home Pit Bull Rescue (Bryan/College Station) – Founded in June 2010, we are a 501(c)3 organization that rescues Pit Bulls in Bryan/College Station, Brazos Valley and the outlying areas. We personality test these dogs and place them with loving fosters until we can screen the best home for that dog’s personality.
Texas Sled Dog Rescue (Houston) – Texas Sled Dog Rescue is a non-profit volunteer organization founded in January 2012 designed to assist Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes needing rescue. Our mission is to find loving, forever homes and educate potential owners about their personality traits, which many times are overshadowed by their captivating looks. While in rescue, we will place them in foster homes, provide basic training as needed, and vetting, which includes updated vaccinations, spay or neuter, and microchipping. Our volunteers are involved in all facets of rescue including, but not limited to, fundraising, transporting, evaluating dogs, representing the rescue at local dog events, fostering, etc.
